Cleavage/Fracture

 

The cleavage and fracture of amazonite is 2,1 - basal ; 2,1 - prismatic ; and 3,1 – pinacoidal. Basal and pinacoidal mean it breaks parallel to the bottom of the mineral and prismatic means it breaks parallel to the side of the rock.
